What was the inspiration behind the DUET design?
The DUET design originated from a client request. Our client required a locking ladder pull with two independent locking bolts. This double-sided key lock ladder pull design is used in conjoining rooms where both parties have to grant permission to access the other side. The DUET double-cylinder deadbolt locking pull is the ultimate solution for connecting teams and people and broadening outreach.

Yes, physical connectivity allows you to get more accomplished and generate more ideas. We seem more creative when talking or working as a team in person than when communicating via email, phone, or messaging. The DUET keyed deadbolt lock opens doors to connecting rooms, providing ease of physical connectivity and allowing rooms to be both private and open.

Locking ladder pull innovation has always been our specialty, and we are looking towards this as a goal as part of our continued effort to prioritize client needs. When you provide the customer with a turn-key solution, you also offer peace of mind because now they understand their delivered assembly is prepped and ready for installation. Risks are minimized if not eliminated.
A turnkey solution reaps many benefits, but with any project, there are unknowns. Which core type can support a building’s compliance maintenance continues to be an area of awareness we take to heart. A construction key can be supplied, which allows a general contractor or facility manager to determine which lock configuration is appropriate for a building post or after occupancy.
What other attributes does the DUET possess besides its unique design construction?
With the DUET double-cylinder deadbolt ladder pull, you also have an adjustable bolt on both sides, providing easy adjustment with uneven floors and a robust and secure deadlock connection. Door prep also matches the dimensions of the XP-UD (our non-locking Universal Series), making it interchangeable if a locked door is to be changed to non-locking. This is an excellent advantage if a specification or code requirement changes on a project site.
Defining a door’s function is necessary for many reasons, but until then, a door hardware specification is impossible. Security and compliance are two of many essential tasks Facility Managers undertake. How would you describe DUET double-keyed deadbolt lock to an FSM to guarantee an understanding of the specification, installation, and operation (i.e., cores and keys)?
The DUET is an ANSI F16 double-cylinder deadbolt locking ladder pull for Passage Doors that can be ordered with SFIC or LFIC (Schlage) core that comes with two operational and one control key. It also has two custom double adjustable locking bolts on both sides, including two dust-proof bolt receivers. Advantages that make specification and installation unexacting and uncomplicated. Both sides of this unique locking ladder pull operate independently, and the DUET can be installed on substrates of different thicknesses and materials. (glass, timber, aluminum). Installation instructions are included in every handle box, along with appropriate access and labeling for proper application.
